Measuring for a Made-to-Measure Kilt

Kilt Measurements

Note: Get someone to take measurements for you – it is difficult to measure yourself accurately.

a) Kilt Waist 
Measure around the waist at navel height. Take measurement firmly, so that kilt will sit comfortably without falling down.

b) Kilt Hips 
Measure loosely around seat at widest point.

c) Kilt Drop (Length)
Kneel down with your chin up and knees 2-3" apart. Measure from belly button to the floor. This should result in the hem of the kilt resting on the tops of the knees.

d) Full Height
Take your full height without shoes on.
