Thanks again to television archivists NZ on Screen, Kiwis have at their fingertips yet another valuable resource to help provide some insight into their Scottish ancestry.
Released in 1996 as part of the "An Immigrant Nation" series, "Hoots Mon - The Scots in New Zealand" is a documentary that examines the history of Scots in New Zealand, including the establishment of the city of Dunedin by Scottish settlers, the impact of Scottish culture in other towns and communities throughout the country, and the stories of how they came to arrive on these shores.
The documentary features interviews from various New Zealanders of Scots descent, as well as some fantastic imagery.
